Ocean City, MD
Inshore & Offshore fishing for Tuna, Marlin, Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, Shark, Flounder, Sea Bass, Tautog, Spadefish, Stripers, Triggerfish and much more!
Just a few miles off the coast of Ocean City, Maryland, lies some of the best fishing on the east coast. The waters off Ocean City are home to countless wrecks and reefs all teeming with hungry Flounder, Sea Bass, Tog, Triggerfish, Spadefish, and so much more. It’s very common for an 8 hour charter to catch in excess of 250 fish, and taking fish on a bare hook is a regular occurrence. Farther east, some 50 miles off Ocean City, lies the pristine blue waters known as the “canyons”. Here the bottom drops from 240 feet to 600+ feet. This sudden drop causes a condition known as up-welling. Up-welling occurs when the nutrient rich waters of the deep are forced upward toward the surface. This condition, combined with the warm water temperatures of the nearby Gulf Stream, are a mecca for Tuna, Marlin, Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, and more. Captain Dan Stauffer, affectionately known throughout the local fishing community as “Danny”, grew up fishing the waters off Ocean City and Palm Beach & Marathon FL, running his own boats off OC since the early 80′s. The crew of the “Fin Chaser” will do everything possible to make your day on the water fun and successful. We strive to keep the information on our website current, and we post EVERYTHING! Not just the good days, but the good, the bad, and the ugly. If you want to experience the incredible pull of a Tuna, witness a spectacular leaping Marlin, see the breathtaking colors of the Mahi-Mahi, catch dozens of tasty Sea Bass, wrestle with a Tautog (aka Tog or Bulldog) or nail a “doormat” size Flounder.
